Cerf Testing is mandatory for all Shorkie Club of America breeders to have done on all their breeding adults. This is to ensure the best of our ability you are getting a healthy and happy Shorkie puppy that will not suffer from eye disease in its  lifetime

Please choose a breeder that does all of there genetic testing including the eyes! I am not trying to scare anyone, But if you did your research and realized the importance of this it would be clear that you will want to avoid the heartache and devastation that comes along with adopting a puppy that suffers  from liver issues or worse yet dies.

Even more so .. adopting a puppy that appears healthy only to at one yr of age find out it is going blind. You will wish you had taken the time to find a breeder who only breeds parents that have been tested.

Shih Tzu rank in the top 5 dogs for eye issues. So if the Mother of your Shorkie is a Shih Tzu and she has not been Cerf tested for eye issues .. how do you know your puppy wont develop eye disease that will cause him blindness.

Breeders  that tell you they have no issues in their lines concern me greatly!!! My question to these breeders is HOW DO YOU KNOW ?? You haven't done any testing.

Puppy parents today have the right to expect the breeder t.y choose to do the VERY MOST to protect them and the puppies they are producing. The sad fact and truth is MANY breeders do not and are in it for some quick cash,

I get probably 50 calls every week from people all over the USA telling me about the issues they have had with a breeder of a Shorkie or that the puppy itself has died or is very sick. The only thing I can tell them is to contact the breeder they got the dog from. If there had been a problem with an SCA breeder, I could assist them. But I have no jurisdiction over breeders that are not SCA members. So, please, before working with any Shorkie breeder, check with us to see if it is a breeder we recognize and work with. As I’ve said, I will be glad to personally let you know if the breeder you are considering is an SCA breeder. (Email pricelesspups@yahoo.com; or telephone 253-238-7936, Pacific Time Zone.) I will happily help you. The Priceless Pups family is championing the need for change in the USA when it comes to ethical breeding practices. It’s time for responsible breeders to take a stand and step out and away from breeders who are breeding without understanding what they are doing and/or are just out to make a quick buck. We are doing everything in our power to ensure we are breeding to better the Shorkie breed. If breeders are doing nothing to better the breed, then what business do they have breeding at all?

We recommend you start out your puppy immediately with NuVet Plus, and keep him on it throughout his life to maintain a strong immune system.  It comes in tablet or powder form, and we suggest the powder form because it is easier to use for puppies and is easily sprinkled on food.  Or if you like, you can use it as a training treat after your puppy has gone potty outside either first thing in the morning, or in the evening after the last potty break before bed.

You can purchase NuVet directly from the manufacturer, NuVet Labs – either phone them at 1-800-474-7044, or use their website, www.nuvet.com.  You may want to ask them about their auto-ship program which allows you to save 15% off of the wholesale price.  And of course we would love for you to use our Order Code which is No. 70321.  But make no mistake, this is not about us making a sale.  We think the product is just one more component which helps us be responsible breeders and helps responsible puppy parents maintain the health of their puppies.
